YA iSpace Pages in our YA Area

This is a great idea that the St. Andrews branch library of the Charleston County Public LIbrary is doing. It looks like it is being marketed like an iPod. I'm sure the fact that a digital camera as a prize is very enticing to young adult readers. This is a great way to blend Library 1.0 with 2.0 - using some 2.0 tools to get YAs interested in summer reading. Very cool!

  1. Taking nothing away from St. Andrews, this is part of our system-wide Teen Summer Reading, iRead. It's a truly cool program, with chances to win, among other things, an iPod shuffle and a digital camera. Reading, a photo contest, cool T-shirts if you read a 1,000 pages and more. And we also have, of course, a Children's Summer Reading program, and an Adult one too. (Shameless promotion here!) Cynthia B.
